There are many different flavors of HD. It is important to make sure that when some one says they are filming in HD they are actualy filming in a Progressive format and not an Interlaced format. Progressive means that all lines of resolution are displayed at all times. Interlaced on the other hand only displays half of the lines of resolution are shown yielding only half of the quality of Progressive.

High Definition is much larger and clear television standard required a much clearer and vivid type of media. The Sony Corporation along with other electronic and computer companies designed from scratch the new type of media for our new televisions. This technology is called Blu-Ray.
