Hi, we are Ryan & Ashley! We are a husband and wife videography team in Knoxville, TN. Since 2002, we have been  filming weddings all over the United States.  In that time, we have filmed over 300 weddings and a countless number of commercials and live events.

We love filming weddings!  We take great pride and care when approaching every wedding we film. No wedding deserves a template. Our goal is to create a video for you that is timeless and create something for you that you treasure for generations to come.

How Did We Get Into This ?

People always ask us how we got into wedding videography - It was by accident.  In early 2002, Ashley and I were dating and I worked for Apple Computers at the University of Tennessee as the Apple Campus Representative.  In that time, it was my job to educate the departments at UT about the advantages Apple gave them over using other computers and more importantly, what Apple's Software could do for them.  In that time, Apple released its first non-linear video editing software. (Fancy words for computer video editing program)  I was asked to learn the new piece of software at that time called Final Cut Pro.  I jumped right in. I thought, "how better to learn a piece of software than to actually put it into practical use."  I asked a theater group if it was ok if I filmed their program with my video camera and told them I would burn them a DVD of what I made.  They were happy to have me do it, but their expectations were low.  Shortly after their program, I came to the director with a DVD of their performance and she placed it in her computer and started watching it and said, "Wow, this is good."   The idea of Ryan's Production began.  The director enjoyed it so much that she scheduled a cast party to watch the DVD.  After the showing, I received countless calls to make copies of the DVD.  So many, in fact, that I lost count.  I was burning day and night to keep up with demand for a couple of weeks.

I remember distinctly thinking, "wow, that was really fun producing a DVD from start to finish."  I think I could do this professionally in the future.  I suddenly realized after reading a few books that I needed real training and education to set a great foundation for my potential business.  I was attending the University of Tennessee at the time.  I decided to enroll in some Film and Television Broadcasting classes.  When the spring semester ended, I enrolled in all the Film and Television Broadcasting classes every semester on top of the classes I was already taking for my major,  Speech Communication.

Learning from all the resources that Apple was offering me and learning from the classes I was enrolled in, I was like a sponge soaking up everything I could.   During this time, I was actively filming anything and everything so I could get experience.  During this time, Ashley and I got engaged, and I went to my very first Bridal Show.  Wow what an experience !  There seemed to be a vendor for everything from flowers to napkins to limos.... Ashley put me in charge of finding the videographer.  Well, there really wasn't any to be found.  We looked around. It was very hard to find someone at the time that specialized in the filming of weddings.  That sparked my idea to create Ryan's Wedding Videography.  That was what I called my business for a long time.

Ashley is the scheduling and details coordinator for Ryan's Production.  From 2002-2010, Ashley accompanied Ryan to every wedding as his assistant videographer, but in 2010 Ashley and Ryan found out that they where having a little boy.  Her role had to change slightly.  Ashley took over a more active roll in the business and administrative side, and we hired our first Assistant Videographer. By that time, Ryan's Production had grown significantly and required a person to coordinate all of the weddings and events we were scheduled to shoot.  When you talk to Ryan's Production you are talking to Ashley.  Ashley answers all emails and makes all our telephone calls.  Without her we would be lost !

Ashley currently works full-time as the School Counselor at Norwood Elementary in Oliver Springs, TN. Ashley currently holds B.S. in Psychology from the University of Tennessee and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Lincoln Memorial University.
